Ecologia’s Overseas Project Is ‘Highly Commended’ at the 2011 Brownfield Briefing Remediation Awards 2011
An ongoing Ecologia’s project in Italy which combines Multiphase Extraction and Dual Phase Extraction to treat BTEX contamination both on and off site has been “Highly Commended” for ‘Best In Situ Treatment Category’ at the Brownfield Briefing Remediation Awards held in London on the 12th of October.
Ecologia Best Runner Up at the Swale Business Award 2011
Ecologia was awarded the title of ‘Best Runner Up’ at the Swale Business Award 2011. The award was presented at the gala night on the 7th October. The award was hotly contested and Ecologia missed the opportunity to repeat the win of 2007 by finishing in second position by a whisker. The award is a recognition of Ecologia’s contribution to the local economy
Ozone Sparging – Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Ecologia was contracted to carry out groundwater remediation works at a former shipyard in the South of England. The remediation works were designed to address the identified groundwater contamination down gradient of the contamination source area in order to mitigate risks to controlled waters. Remediation Strategy Development in Eastern Europe
Ecologia has been commissioned to investigate remediation options for a former oil refinery in Eastern Europe. Our team will be working on site during the next few months to categorise the nature of hydrocarbon contamination and to develop a robust and cost effective remediation strategy including a detailed for the works made possible by our in depth knowledge of remediation systems.
New Pilot Trial in Italy
Ecologia has been instructed to perform a pilot trial for the Multi phase extraction of a chlorinated source zone at a site in Northern Italy. The instruction from a new client builds on our growing success with in-situ remediation in the Italian market where ‘novel’ technologies are becoming much more accepted.
Decontamination Following a Release of ‘Sodium Cyanide’
Ecologia was involved in a unique sterile clean of a domestic property following a release of a highly toxic compound ‘Sodium Cyanide’. The incident formed part of a police investigation into a reported suicide at the property that required the expertise from a qualified environmental solutions company to mitigate potential on-going risks to human health. New Project Manager Joins the Stafford Office
Michelle Gwynne has recently joined Ecologia Stafford office as project manager. Michelle was previously an environmental scientist at the RAW Group and she will now support the increasing workload at our busy regional office.
Site Investigation of a Former Landfill, Borough Green, Kent.
Ecologia was tasked to install groundwater monitoring wells beneath an abandoned sandpit that had subsequently been used for landfill. This was a geologically complex site, overlying the boundary between the lower greensand and upper greensand & Gault clay that run below the area of Kent where the site is situated. Read more in PDF>
Geo-environmental Site Investigation in the South East
Ecologia has recently been awarded a comprehensive geo-environmental site investigation for a large development in Kent. The work will include extensive trial pitting in order to assess potential contamination and geotechnical testing for in-filled areas in order to refine foundation design. The site investigation is currently underway and it will be completed in the early part of August.
New Office in Yorkshire
Ecologia is proud to announce the opening of a new office in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The new office will be managed by Leigh Anne Cammack who has several years experience as senior project manager in our headquarters in Kent. The new office is part of Ecologia’s strategy to improve geographical coverage across the UK in order to provide a more efficient service to a range of existing clients.
