Contaminated Land Project Co-ordinator (6 month contract)

Antrim, Northern Ireland

We have an opportunity for an experienced Contaminated Land Project Co-ordinator to join our start up team in our new Ireland office.  Reporting to the Regional Manager, candidates will be required to co-ordinate site work set by senior staff (with a set budget) and assist in preparation of cost proposals.  This will include supervising the investigation of potentially contaminated land and pollution incidents, for example oil spills at domestic properties and remediation of commercial sites.  We would expect candidates to have previous work experience as an Environmental Scientist with responsibilities for Phase I & II site investigations, as well as sound knowledge of scientific equipment for monitoring purposes.  We would also require the applicants to have working knowledge of current regulations and guidance, drilling techniques and remediation strategies.  The ability to use software packages such as Surfer, Holebase & AutoCAD would be an advantage.  A UK driving licence is essential.

Geotechnical Engineer – Sittingbourne

£ Negotiable depending on experience

We looking to recruit a degree/MSc qualified geotechnical engineer working towards a chartership status to strengthen our geotechnical capability. The ideal candidate will work in close liaison with the drilling division manager and project manage/supervise small to medium size geo-environmental site investigations.

Experience in geotechnical and SI design as well as technical and interpretative report writing, use of relevant geotechnical software and liaison with client and regulatory bodies are skills sought for this position. On site supervision of drilling crew and experience of CPT and CPTU system would also be an advantage. The candidate will also be expected to work with the drilling division manager in order to produce proposals assist in tendering and provide business development support. Some basic experience in contaminated land would be an advantage, but not essential as internal training will be provided.  A full UK driving licence is also an essential requirement.

The position is based in Sittingbourne Kent, but the candidate will be expected to work throughout the UK and occasionally abroad.

Environmental Science Interns from Europe and the UK – Sittingbourne

We regularly seek to support undergraduate students working towards BSc, BEng or MSc qualifications, or equivalent, by offering Internships for a minimum of 6 months. The experience offered is assisting Ecologia’s Staff in monitoring innovative in-situ remediation processes. These tasks will require site attendance collection of environmental samples, monitoring of the system performance, assisting the engineer to set up the test runs and, to a limited extent, interpretation of the process performance. Being supervised by an Environmental Engineer, the candidate will also be required to assist in carrying out site investigations and other in-house tasks. The tasks performed at Ecologia can be tailored to suit the student’s requirements of a research project normally associated with a final year dissertation. A living allowance is offered with the internship, but applicants are expected to find additional funding to cover living expenses whilst in the UK.
