Contaminated Land Project Manager – Sittingbourne, Kent

We have an opportunity for an experienced Contaminated Land Project Manager to join our team in Sittingbourne. Reporting to a Senior Manager, candidates will be required to take a project from initial design stage through to implementation and completion. Responsibilities will include financial management; completion within set timescales; leading and working with a multi-skilled team; interpretative report writing; liaising with clients and regulatory authorities; and ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines. We would expect candidates to have 5+ years experience (or equivalent) in geo/environmental; contaminated land; civil engineering, including project management experience. The successful candidate will have a flexible attitude to work and posses the enthusiasm and drive to deliver the requirements of this role. The ability to work as an effective member of a team and on their own initiative will be essential, along with excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills. A full UK/EC driving licence is essential.

Contaminated Land Consultant / Specialist – Sittingbourne Kent – Nine months fixed term contract to provide maternity cover

£ negotiable depending on experience.

The ideal candidate would have a geology, hydrogeological, geotechnical or civil engineering background with exposure to contaminated land and have some experience of project management. Main duties for the candidate will include designing, managing and carrying out site investigations, conceptual site models, report scoping and preparation, input to remediation option appraisals working as a member of a small project team. The successful candidate should have good experience of contaminated land guidance including CLEA and P20 risk assessment protocols and implementation of Part 2A. Chartership or being close to obtaining a chartered status with a relevant organisation would be an advantage. The candidate will also be required to have financial responsibility to run projects to budget, be capable of liaising with clients directly and mentoring those with less experience. The role will be based at our office at Kent Science Park in Sittingbourne Kent, but it will involve travelling throughout the UK. A full UK driving licence is essential. Environmental Scientist / Engineer – Sittingbourne, Kent – Nine months term contract

We have an opportunity for an Environmental Scientist / Engineer to join our busy team in Sittingbourne to provide maternity cover. Reporting and working within a Project Team, candidates will be required to undertake Phase I and Phase II site investigations, carry out sampling & soil logging, prepare & send samples to accredited laboratories, operate scientific equipment, carry out short & long-term monitoring of groundwater, assist with the organisation of projects and prepare reports & advise on the findings to the client and other stakeholders, whilst ensuring compliance with health & safety. We would expect candidates to either be a recent graduate with a strong relevant qualification or have some work experience in the contaminated land sector. The successful candidate will be have a flexible attitude to work and posses the enthusiasm and drive to deliver the requirements of this role. The ability to work as an effective member of a team and on your own initiative will be essential, along with excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills. A full UK/EC driving licence is essential.

Environmental Science Interns from Europe and the UK – Sittingbourne

We regularly seek to support undergraduate students working towards BSc, BEng or MSc qualifications, or equivalent, by offering Internships for a minimum of 6 months. The experience offered is assisting Ecologia’s Staff in monitoring innovative in-situ remediation processes. These tasks will require site attendance collection of environmental samples, monitoring of the system performance, assisting the engineer to set up the test runs and, to a limited extent, interpretation of the process performance. Being supervised by an Environmental Engineer, the candidate will also be required to assist in carrying out site investigations and other in-house tasks. The tasks performed at Ecologia can be tailored to suit the student’s requirements of a research project normally associated with a final year dissertation. A living allowance is offered with the internship, but applicants are expected to find additional funding to cover living expenses whilst in the UK.
