Remediation works at our site in Ashford were completed last week and the site handed back to the client for redevelopment. The works were undertaken between January and July and comprised selective excavation, soil sorting screening and off site disposal of material contaminated with hydrocarbons, heavy metals and asbestos containing materials. 

On request of the client the remediation works were extended to include the installation of a permanent platform which acts as both the development/piling platform as well as to provide a capping layer to for the underlying soils. Remedial works were carried out under our environmental permit and with additional permitting required to operate along the bank of a major river course.

Ecologia was able to complete and hand over a third of the site to the client 2 months before the programmed completion to facilitate the client’s expedited piling programme.

The  contract  was carried out under a NEC Option A contract  following  the  initial environmental  assessment and remediation strategy produced by Ecologia.
