Tom joined Ecologia as an Environmental Scientist in February 2007, after graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2006, where he gained a second class, division one honours degree in Environmental Science.

As part of a multidisciplinary team Tom gained experienced in Phase I and Phase II contaminated land surveys and remediation projects on a variety of domestic and commercial sites across the UK. In 2008 he began to coordinate remediation projects including an In Situ Radio Frequency Soil Heating (ISRFSH) trial at a former service station in Kent. After which he contributed to the publications of; CL:AIRE TDP Bulletin (TDP 28) and research article “In Situ Radio-Frequency For Soil Remediation at a Former Service Station: Case Study and General Aspects” which was published in Chemical Engineering & Technology in August, 2012. In 2009 the project was awarded “Most Innovative Remediation Technology” at the Brownfield Briefing Awards.

In 2010 Tom’s role developed to incorporate the site management of engineered remedial works, including a brownfield redevelopment in Hounslow, London, where Ecologia assumed the role as Principal Contractor. The site was a former petrol station and servicing centre, which was remediated using a combination of ozone sparging and an ex-situ biopile.

In the last 12 months Tom has acted as Project Manger for; a £1.4M in-situ chemical oxidation and bulk earthworks remediation of a former chemical facility in the north of England on behalf of a multinational pharma-chemical company; a radio frequency soil heating and multi phase extraction project in Belgium and two projects utilising in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) to remediate hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater in the UK.

Tom currently runs a team of 6 environmental professionals managing and assisting in remedial works.

Tom is currently a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management and holds a Level 4 Diploma in Waste Management Operations: Managing Physical and Chemical Treatment of Hazardous Waste: Remediation of Contaminated Land.
