Rachael Cains
BSc, MSc, AIEMA, MIEnvSc, CEnvSenior Project Manager
Rachael graduated from Swansea University in 2002 with a BSc Hons degree in Zoology. Rachael later undertook an MSc in Environmental Diagnostics at Cranfield University and graduated in 2004. Her thesis work incorporated the change in Environmental Legislation to include the pre-treatment of hazardous waste prior to landfill, and the potential alternative treatments available opposed to landfill.
As part of Rachael’s Masters Degree she gained Associate Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and is currently working towards Full Membership.
On graduating from university, Rachael joined WRG (Waste Recycling Group) as an Environmental Technician. Here she developed her knowledge relating to a variety of environmental monitoring techniques for gas, water, soil and leachate and was responsible for the monitoring and data presentation of a number of closed and operational landfill and waste to energy facilities.
Rachael joined 3R Limited (part of The Anderson Group) in 2005 as a Research Assistant, progressing to Environmental Scientist and then Environmental Consultant as involvement within projects/management developed. Rachael joined Frankis Solutions Limited (Remediation and Groundworks Contractor) in 2008 as a Remediation Scientist. Rachael gained a variety of site investigation and remediation experience within these roles.
Rachael became a member of the Institute of Environmental Sciences in 2013 and achieved the status of Chartered Environmentalist in 2013 also. Rachael holds the WAMITAB Operators Competence Certificate for Contaminated Land Remediation/Mobile Treatment Facilities (Hazardous Waste) NVQ.
Rachael joined Ecologia in 2013 as Project Manager. Her role involves financial accountability for a number of remedial projects, both small and large scale. Her main activities include liaison with stakeholders, control and coordination of resources and personnel, preparation of technical reports, as well as monitoring and supervising site works.
